13 years in the making!
Originally slated for release on DVD & Blu-ray in 2012, delayed time and again due to incomplete source materials, and ultimately left in limbo after the untimely passing of director Andrzej Żuławski in 2016—this long-lost dream was nearly extinguished by time, circumstance, and budgetary reality.
But dreams, especially those born of passion and persistence, do not die so easily.
MONDO VISION is humbled to finally unveil this true labor of love.
For the first time ever, Andrzej Żuławski’s legendary science-fiction epic, Na Srebrnym Globie (On The Silver Globe, 1977/1987), arrives in North America in its first official release, and makes its worldwide debut on 4K ULTRA HD Blu-ray.
This stunning 4K restoration, supervised and approved by the film's original cinematographer Andrzej Jaroszewicz, brings the film to life like never before. Uncut. Uncensored. Uncompromised. Presented in its original 1.66:1 aspect ratio and featuring the original Polish Mono DTS-HD Master Audio, this meticulously authored triple-layer UHD disc preserves the haunting textures and raw visual power of one of cinema's most mythic, misunderstood masterpieces.
A forgotten film... reborn.
